Golgi Bodies: A Post Office in Your Cells
Golgi Bodies are like a shipping warehouse for ER. Products of the ER are modified by the Golgi Bodies, stored, and then sent to other places in the cell. Golgi Bodies are formed from Cristae and is polar--containing a "cis" side which is the receiving end and a "trans" side where products are shipped from. Membrane bounded vesicles transport products into or out of the cell.
The golgi also manufactures its own molecules, including pectins and other noncellulose molecules.
Ever heard of being the mailman's kid? Maybe that just means you have lots of golgi bodies! If you feel like you need to distribute lots of things, golgi bodies can do just that! Buy yours today for just $29.99 for a collection of 30 bodies.
